Trainers required for hearing dogs

Trainers required for hearing dogs

Hearing Dogs tweeted this morning that they need people to be puppy socialisers and help train their hearing dogs for the deaf. Are you interested? Or perhaps you know someone who might be?

Could you

  • look after a puppy in your home for up to a year?
  • introduce them to different people and experiences ahead of their career as a hearing dog?
  • teach them basic obedience?
  • attend regular puppy classes?

Would you

  • like the chance to meet new people?
  • like the chance to learn new skills in puppy behaviour and training?
  • like to help transform the life of a deaf person?

If so, puppy socialising could be perfect for you.

The List: influential people who have shaped disability in Britain today

The aim of The List is to highlight some of the many disabled people who make a difference in modern Britain.

As with other such indexes – the Power List of Britain’s most influential black people, the Independent On Sunday’s Pink List, and Radio 4’s Women’s Hour Power List – the idea is to rank people from a certain group in terms of their current influence within society.
